You checked insurance first mate? Even though it's an escort estate with no back windows the term "van" usually adds over a £1000 on our insurance.... A small van is about £3k to insure a year for me now and about £2k when I'm 21....

What I'm doing is waiting til I'm 21 and getting a people carrier if I still want a van like vehicle (Insurance is £800 - a big difference) and ripping the seats out so it's practically a van! Seriously, insurers hate people under 25 I think, for me I'd rather put my money into a bike or something than some insurers pocket

I've checked the insurance however it would appear i got a quote for the wrong vehicle! *DOH!*

Apparantly its very hard to get insurance for a van that isnt a company vehicle - part of the reason they go cheaply?

Im just going to get a 5 door escort, theyre still nice and cheap and a 1.75 diesel will be perfect for my 400+ mile motorway journey!

When I was a student I had a push bike and used the train

Though home to Poly was only 350 miles each way for me.
